“Brien Sheedy, a mountaineer, educator, and Eagle Scout from Minoa, New York, has had a distinguished career in outdoor leadership. After earning his Eagle Scout award in 1985 and five Eagle Palms, Brien guided Scouting High Adventure programs before earning degrees in Environmental Studies and Ecotourism.
He spent over a decade with the National Outdoor Leadership School, leading expeditions across the globe, and has guided for Alpine Ascents International for 19 years. Notable climbs include the Seven Summits, and ski expeditions to both poles.
Since 2001, Brien has directed Whitman College’s acclaimed outdoor program, recognized as the top program in Washington and honored by AORE. He is married to Dana Weigel Sheedy, and they have twin daughters, Teagan and Tula.”
