June 2026 Newsletter

Share Your Story with Us

Do you have a meaningful experience with Scouting that you’d be willing to share?

We’re looking for individuals who can help bring our mission to life by sharing how Scouting has made a difference in their lives or communities. These stories help our donors better understand the real impact of their support, and inspire continued generosity.

Whether you’re a participant, volunteer, leader, or parent, your story matters.

If you, or someone you know, would be open to a brief conversation for a future Impact Story, we’d love to hear from you.

👉 Please reach out to us at bmcinfo@scouting.org or reply directly to this newsletter.

Thank you for helping us tell the story of Scouting in action!

Hiring for After-School Program Aides

Do you enjoy working with kids and making a positive impact in your community? Blue Mountain Council is hiring part-time After-School Program Aides to help lead fun and meaningful Tiger Cub (1st grade) Scouting activities!

Safety Moment: June is National Safety Month

At the Blue Mountain Council, safety is at the heart of every adventure. During National Safety Month, we encourage all leaders, parents, and volunteers to take time to review the many aspects of keeping Scouts safe, both physically and emotionally, while participating in Scouting activities.

Safety in Scouting includes outdoor preparedness, hydration and weather awareness, transportation safety, first aid readiness, safe tool use, and creating an environment where every youth feels respected and protected. Whether you are planning a weekend campout, a Troop meeting, or a summer adventure, safety should always be part of the plan.

A great resource for quick, practical guidance is Safety Moments. These short discussions and reminders are designed to help leaders and Scouts build a stronger culture of safety throughout the program.

We also encourage all registered adults and volunteers to complete or renew Safeguarding Youth Training. Youth protection and safeguarding are essential parts of delivering a safe and positive Scouting experience for every young person in our care.

Thank you for helping keep Scouting safe, fun, and welcoming for all.
